tilt column
I believe the 68 is one year only column. Not 100% on that though. It also has the ignition on the dash and not the column. Does a 66 have the same setup? I think for column swaps the main things are length and the of splines on the shaft. The more variation, the more customizing you need.

68 is 1 year only, but similar to 67. 67 was the first year for 4-way flashers in the column. So starting in 67, the column diameter at the steering wheel got slightly larger. 67 has a 1-piece colapsable steering shaft running from the steering box to the steering wheel. The 68 column is like the later 69-72 columns with a steering shaft running from the steering box to a u-joint at the bottom of the steering column. Then a seperate shaft in the column itself. The column for your car should interchage with other 68 BOP tilt columns. 66, 67, and 68 chevelle tilt columns are all 1 year only 1 model only columns (they need to come from that year chevelle and will not correctly interchange with BOP) because of how they meet the dash.
I installed an Ididit tilt column in the Vette, Its a one year wonder 68 as well. The Ididit is high quality and went in without a hitch, plug n play.
Good luck finding a 68 A body Olds OEM tilt, column or floor shift. If you do locate one you could've bought 3-4 Ididits.
Take a look at the site or call. Flaming River is supposed to be the same.
