Steering Wheel 1986 Olds Full Size
Hey...
I have a 1986 Olds 98 Grande with a leather-covered wheel. I am looking for a replacement for it that is in mint or excellent condition...Hell, I'd even take a fair one at this point, mine is SHOT from 24 years of California sunshine.
Anyone know of one? I am about to go and get mine recovered, I guess...
Thanks,
Matt

Matt, check out this place:
http://www.wheelskins.com/index.php
There are also companies that repair steering wheels. Do a search on our website and I'm sure you can find more info.

Hey...Thanks, but the wheelskins don't come with the padding underneath, and that is what is totally shot. It's like holding some kind of diseased animal in your hands...the wheel is gross and totally deformed. I will have to have it reupholstered unless I find something NOS...which I am still hoping for....

Nice car. Does it have the "FE3" package (usually identified by an emblem below the trunk lid)? I think that package automatically came with the leather wrapped wheel. If your car has a tan interior, it may be hard to find the correct wheel. But there are people/firms who restore them; I've seen it done for other 80s car with leather wheels (like Touring sedans, 442s, and Lesabre T-types).
