Retractors for 68 to 72 GM lap belts for use with shoulder belt

The lap belts were missing on my 1972 Vista Cruiser. I think these were considered the deluxe belts. My lap belts are black, even though thee car had a blue interior.

I might be interested in a set of rear seat lap belts too.

Thanks, Tom

tcolt, your thread title says "68-72 GM lap belts" but be aware that the early system had shorter retractor belt and longer fixed belt so the buckle was more toward the outer side of the seat when connected. The later system had a longer retractor belt and shorter fixed buckle end so that the shoulder belt attached was further inboard/lower for proper shoulder belt fitment.

The pics above are the 72-up (maybe 71-up?) version with the keyhole slot for the tab on the shoulder belt. 1970 and older had a separate belts/buckles for lap and shoulder.

Yes. Thanks for the pictures. I am looking for those buckles that have the recess to allow the shoulder belt to hook in as shown on your bottom two retractors. Does there happen to be a date stamp on the tag that's sewn to the belt?

I might also be interested in some that are not working or with parts missing if the price is right, since I'd have to rebuild them to make them work.

Thanks, Tom

Thanks Ken. I also forgot to mention that I need the shorter version belt and buckle as you described it. I don't know whether the Oldsmobile metal buckle said GM or Olds on the emblem, but it might have just been GM. It's possible that these belts were not available yet with the shoulder belt option or maybe there was a lap-belt only version that was available earlier.
