rear view mirror w/ map light

Does anyone know where I could lay my hands on the rear view mirror (with map light) for a '71 cutlass convertible? None of the normal websites offer them.

Mine was completely fogged out so I replaced it with a normal one (w/o light). Now the wire that hangs down from the mirror bracket is starting to annoy me and I want to find a true replacement.

Why didn't you just have the glass in the original mirror replaced? No one makes this part as a reproduction, so you'll need a 68-71 donor. The 72 mirror has black backing and rubber around the glass so it's technically not right for your car.

Check with Paladin31 (Brett). He's close to you and likely has some of these kicking around.

I purchased one of the aftermarket assemblies without the light. I carefully removed the glass and installed it in my oem lighted mirror. It just takes sometime and patience.

X2. If you find a good original with good glass it will cost 2 to 3 times more then the repop.

OK thanks. I'll try swapping out the mirror on the replacement with the original.

Mirror Restoration & Silver Service

I used a guy in Illinois who re-silvered two of my mirrors for $15 each. I sent him the glass and he charged me $15 shipping . I was totally satisfied with his service and would highly recommend him.
