Power Antenna Repair Specialist or replacement?
Anyone out there know of a reputable power antenna repair specialist or has a working replacement power antenna for sale? I am in need for my '66 Old's 98.
Thanks!

Power Antenna Repair Specialist or replacement
If you do find somebody who does this work, let us know. Personally, I have two Tri-band power antennas from the 70's that won't move up or down; although the motors work. Seems that's always the case from the ones I've pulled. On mine, there is a nylon cord inside that acts like a drive belt that snapped.

Try contacting Barney Eaton at 512-869-5114. He rebuilds power antennas for Buicks from the 60's to the 80's. Highly recommended. He also taught me how to rebuild the power antenna for my 85 Riv and it works great.
I'm sure he could help you....I would not think that the antenna in your Olds is really any different from their Buick sister models.

The nylon cord is attached to the top section of the mast and is serviced as one piece. After the mast is removed from the motor, unscrew the top piece (static ball) from the top section and slide the piece out and replace. Nylon cord then feeds into the drum, under the little clutch,(remove clutch, don't loose little ball bearings, and tension spring) round and round. Replace clutch, adjust carefully, bench test. Be careful not to break the soldered connection inside the mast tube. Use white lithium to assemble.
