I suspect this item is available as a repop? Also, would not Chevrolet, or other GM lines have used the same cable. Can't believe 69 H/O was unique in this respect, but who knows?

Yes I think you are right about it not being special as far as a repo part I am trying to exterminate any chinese made parts that might of made their way into my '' proudly made in Detroit Michigan'' car.... I just tossed a made in japan sparkomatic speaker i had in there....I suspect there might be more somewhere

Pogo - I'm having my original cables reproduced by M&H Electrical Fabrications (for myself and other '77 Cutlass owners). I'm making sure the "correct" markings and sheathing details are exact before the final product is offered. Once they're done, they're returning my originals along with the new OEM reproductions.

A quick glance through their catalog and I see they have a spring loaded positive cable for a '69 V8 400-455 (part number 12525 for $44). If all else fails, give them a call and see if they can help you out. Ask for Darrin.

After you check on the positive cable for the original poster (Pogo) can you let Us know if you have part numbers/photos of your cables? I'm specifically looking for an NOS original GM positive cable (8915794 DZ) for my '77. While we're at it, a NOS negative cable (8915800 DT) too if you have one.

In my delco-packard book there are no listings for spring rings in 68 69 or 70, that doesnt mean much really, because its showing a HD as standard on all 400s and 455s...

What do mean a HD? Can you send some pics of the ones you know you have for 69's.

FYI - your H/O was built/assembled in Lansing Michigan, ~90 miles across the state.

HD=heavy duty

the cables are supposed to be 60in for pos and 30 for Neg, thats all the info i have, weird but for the F-85 and big car 400s and 455s theres little to no info.

On a Buick or a chevy a HD cable is a bolt on with a huge terminal

I have some early like 62-65 olds cables, i dont have pics, but heres a few buick/pontiac

Thanks for looking, Mark. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks for posting the photo too, cool to see the original parts with the factory markings.

Pogo - if you exhaust your resources and can't find one, give Darrin a call and see if he can help.

My two cents - I just bought spring ring cables for my 70 in the fall. I have my factory negative cable still and replaced the positive years ago with a Delco GM service replacement (it was not a spring ring type and was black not red.) So I finally replaced both cables..bought them from america-autowire. The quality seems very good. They have the part number (correct part number for each per the assembly manual) stamped into the cable not printed onto the cable covering, in the correct place per my 70 cable. The stamping is filled with a light amount of white paint- this is exactly like my factory negative cable.…
