olds 455 power steering pump and brackets

I currently have power steering bracket that sits above the valve cover on my 455. This is a 64 Cutlass so the bracket is from a 330.

I would like to convert to pump style which sits lower. Please let me know if you have one to part with. Thanks

There was a recent post where someone did this but had to cut part of the lower bracket off for clearance with the steering box. Also, you might need to swap all the pulleys over to get a set that match, and may or may not need to change the water pump to get the right length for the pulleys to line up. John

That’s what I was afraid of. I was going to try to cut/weld until it can work with my existing pulleys.

The water pumps are shorter on the earlier cars. I think the fan would hit the radiator with the longer pump installed.

My thoughts are that your existing pulleys won't match the newer power steering pulley. Not sure about the radiator/fan clearance, you might need to take some measurements and experiment with that. There's a lot of variation between pulleys that will fit your motor.

Thanks for your input. Maybe I’ll take some measurements and take a walk through the junk yard when the weather gets better and find a combination that I can make work.
