OEM Catalytic Converter 76 Cutlass 350
IDK how weird California would get on an aftermarket converter, but in their rampant stupidity and contrariness it wouldn't surprise me if they'd bark at a more efficient aftermarket unit over the obsolete and less efficient OEM pellet type. Makes me glad and grateful I don't live there.
Catalytic Converter
Scrapped one out of a '75 full size Chev last year. The car had sat untouched since '89 until last year. Had to fill out forms and leave photo copy of my ID when sold to the local scrapper. Got $75 for it, no idea what it was worth to them. It was heavy. Would have been a bear to ship, price wise.

I don't currently have one but higher up in this thread I posted pics of original "pancake" style converter that was OEM for '76 cutlass. Thanks!

Heard new Cats flow better over the pellet type
Second your gonna have to put it on a roller smog test to pass smog..
this can be hard to do, other things play into it , like carb set up, timing, compression, etc etc
Find the OEM emission tune -up sticker for your car, (they make repros) it will have the timing specs, rpm, what hoses to block off, etc. Give this to a smog test guy that knows his stuff, MOST don't

Just because it runs well, doesn't mean it will pass smog...
