Instead of resurrecting an old unrelated post. I moved it to its own parts wanted thread. Good luck

8623768 is the kickdown solenoid.

8623763 is the stator control solenoid. Wire for the stator solenoid is longer since it has to run from the backside of the front pump, through the case, all the way to the connector.

So here is a picture of the actual original Kenne-Bell solenoid that mounts to the back of the front pump the center hole to hole measurement is 1.38 the ST-400 is 1.70" C to C so I guess that is not the correct number. Where could I find one of these beauty's?

That is an aftermarket replacement item. The factory solenoid looks like the one in the link I posted. Did you install the old Kenne-Bell switch pitch conversion kit? Functionally, the solenoids are the same, as are the bolt patterns. Only the housing is different.

Thanks Joe,
Yes this was the Kenne Bell kit for the turbo 400, this was the solenoid that came with the kit in 1981. So the factory one you mentioned will work just the same?

Yes. I installed one of those K-B kits back in the 1980s. Their pump bodies are all rebuilt OEM. That solenoid valve is just an aftermarket replacement. The OEM solenoid bolts up exactly the same.

That is the stamped number on the cover, same on all of these solenoids. Again, the switch pitch solenoid is 8623763. The only difference between 8623763 for the switch pitch and 8623768 used for the kickdown is the length of the wire. The one in that ebay listing unfortunately has a cut wire if you look at it, but it does have one of the retainer clips used to route the wire on the valve body. In any case, the solenoid valve itself is the same, only the length of the wire is different.

Stop overthinking this. The solenoid valve is just an on/off valve. The bolt pattern is the same. Only the wire routing is different. I'm pretty sure no one makes new replacement solenoid valves for the switch pitch. You will either need to search for a good used one or lengthen the wire on one of the replacement kickdown valves to fit. If you search Google for TH400 solenoid valve, you get a lot that look like your old aftermarket one with a short wire.
