My glove compartment switch will not stay latched, as soon as I hit a bump it drops open. The part that is supposed to lock into the latch needs to be replaced. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

FWIW, you'll have to find that part from the salvage yard. The switch failed in my 71 98 and even going to GM to order the correct part got me a switch that didn't work. The door jamb switches are close to the glove box switch but there's more travel in the glove box switch. That's why your glove box pops open when your driving down the road.

Eventually, I'm going to replace my switch with an aftermarket switch that does the same thing.
