Need Door Open repeater.

Need Door Open repeater.
Need Door Open repeater.
The shaft used to hold the inside door open handle is sometimes called the Door Repeater.
My drivers side door repeater has a broken spring.
The door opens fine, but you need to manually push the lever back down to close/latch the door.
The broken spring is built into the assembly and cannot be replaced.
I called a few of the big cars company's and no-one carries the Door-repeater for the 1970-1972 cars with "Chrome Back-plate Arm Rests".
It seems the Door-repeater comes in 2 different Shaft-Lengths.
The Short-Shaft is used on 68-69 cars.
The longer shaft (Approximately 35.5 millimeters) is required for CS that use the common "Chrome Back-plate Arm Rests".
The Big stores only sell the Short-shaft, for cars that do not have a back-plate behind the arm rest.
Personally, I do not recall ever seeing a 70-72 without a back plate behind the arm rest.
I do not have the measurements for the Short-Shaft.
Looks like I will need to hit the Junk yards this spring.
Does anyone know of a source for the long shaft door repeater?
Regards Miles

Miles,
I might have one. There are at least 3 sizes of these & as you can imagine, the driver side is always the one that breaks as it's used the most. The F85 & Cutlass S did not have the chrome plate behind the armrest, only the Supreme I believe. I'll try to check on one today.

Hi Oldspackrat, thanks for looking and for updating me on the armrests.
I have had 9-Cutlasses. Only 1 was a 4-door, long time ago. All of the rest for Cutlass Supremes 70-72.

Still looking for the "Door latch remote LH".
It seems that many auto websites do carry a GM and Oldsmobile parts, but since they do not list the shaft length, it is hard to find the correct part.
I sent a few emails to auto parts stores with a detailed description of the part, including the shaft length.
Here is a part number from Goodmark. Part#: GMK4020443681L, $14.95.
I think this is a Short Shaft-Part.
Drivers Side Door latch Remote, The Red marks indicate where I took the measurements (+/- 2mm error).
