Need 455 HP Exhaust Manifolds & Frame Perches

Need 455 HP Exhaust Manifolds if not maybe a dual exhaust set with no crossovers. I have a 70 Cutlass and It has a 350 in it now. I need frame perches if mine wont work......or will they?? Thanks.

Your frame perches will work IF you use the rubberized 350 motor mounts. You have to match the metal perches and rubber motor mounts, but either setup will work on a small or big block. John

I have a set of used 455 exhaust manifolds... They are great for a driver. I welded a crack on one of the ears and then drilled out the studs and put new helicoils in them and serviced them and they are ready to bolt on....

$100.00 plus the freight to you

That is a little steep for stock exhaust manifolds. You can buy a set of 455 headers from Summit for $180 + shipping.

Joe Padavano is the expert on engine mounts, but I have read his many posts. Basically (at least for 1970), if you are dropping in a 455, you can buy the 455 frame mounts (perches), but then need to buy the 455 rubber mounts that go with them (the rubber/metal mounts that attach to the engine). Or, you can just leave the 350 frame mounts (perches) on the frame and then use 350 rubber motor mounts to go with them on the 455 engine By matching, the previous poster means - use 350 frame mounts/perches with 350 rubber motor mounts, OR, use 455 frame mounts/perches with the 455 rubber motor mounts, but don't use 350 frame mounts with 455 rubber mounts, etc. In this way, the engine will sit at the right level.

If those are W/Z manifolds that's not a bad price if they're in good shape other than the repairs.

Yes, Oldsconv explained what I was trying to say. Does that help you?

Thanks. I guess I can drill and run a bolt through the center since they are probably not as strong.

No. All the SBO motor mounts currently on the market already have the interlocking feature built in. Adding a bolt is at best a waste of time and at worst may damage the interlocking feature. Just use 350 mounts in good condition. One P/N is Anchor #2328. These run about $3 apiece from RockAuto. It's not even worth messing with old ones.
