It's a one-year-only switch for Oldsmobile. Not sure what other GM carlines use it.

OE part # is Group 2.188, p/n 1116646, 1964 all except F85.

Keep in mind Olds refers to all 61-72 A-body cars including Cutlass & 442 as F85 in the parts books. You need one for the full-size car- Jetstar/Dynamic/Super 88, Ninety Eight, Starfire, Jetstar I.

Hopefully you can cross-reference that number to an aftermarket if you can't find a genuine Delco-Remy part. An old-stock Echlin, Sorenson, Standard etc will be as good as the OE D-R.

I have several used. Would it need to have a key? I would think if you have the original it would be an easy swap. I'm just down the road from you in Robinson. email dead@mchsi.com

Guys:
I was interested to find out about no replacement switch for your Olds, I checked the local N*** Parts store and was told that they had a replacement they could get within a couple days. Most of the discount parts stores have NO clue about the cars we work on, the guys practically run when they see me come in due to the restos we do. The N*** guy had to look thru some PAPER Catalogs to find it, but it was there. I worked the parts counter for an Independent store back in the 80's for almost 10 years, every guy had a catalog rack 6-7 feet long and you had to know it. It was before computers became the NEW counterman, if you find a GOOD parts guy, buy him lunch every now and then and give thanks.
Later Ron
