Looking for a 1970 olds 455 block with the date code 30Mxxxxx on it. Just need the block but will take the engine as well

That's not a date,that's the VIN.
When was your car built?

The engine block will have 30M followed by 6 digits. I have a 70 olds 442. I know its not the vin. My vin is 344670Mxxxxxx.

The 30M is how they stamp the VIN on the block
3 = Oldsmobile
0 = 1970
M = Lansing(or whatever plant your car was built)
XXXXXX = the last 6 digits of the VIN on the car.

The transmission is stamped the exact same way.

There is a julian date on the back of the block,directly next to the distributor hole,which indicates the date of the year it was made. 295 = 295th day.

way down here in texas... more then " 600 miles " ... but i have both a 72 julian dated block and a 1970 . The 72 block is cleaned with a std bore and the block from the 70 442 is not so good; needs a sleeve and most likely punched .30 over. If 70 is what you are after I can get you the actual day stamped near the dist.

I also have a 455 with a pad stamp
that begins with 30M, complete with E heads
from a 70 Cutlass. It would need a rebuild as well.
