Leather Steering wheel for Custom Cruiser wanted

Hello,

I'm trying to source a Medium Beechwood leather covered (and a plastic rimmed) steering wheel suitable for my 1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser.

The current plastic steering wheel isn't comfortable on long road trips.

I understand the Ninety Eight and no doubt other Oldsmobile models had leather covered steering wheels and hope its possible to find one and swap it over as there is no airbag to worry about on the Custom Cruiser wagons of the late 80's.

I guess failing a leather one I could always try and have a plastic steering wheel in Medium Beechwood professionally done in leather? Any recommended companies would be appreciated too!

I attach a photo of what I have currently in the Medium Beechwood and a red/burgundy version of a leather steering wheel I've recently seen online.

I hope someone out there has any advice on where I can source one. Thanks.

Until you find exactly what you want I suggest you cover your current steering wheel. I used a steering wheel cover from Wheelskins.

http://wheelskins.com/

It is an excellent product and reasonably priced. You can get it in about 16 or 20 different colors. If you take your time as I did the steering wheel cover turns out looking factory (sorry can't post a pic since I'm away from home).

Try eBay or the parts yards. Steering wheels interchange very easily and you may find one you like from a donor that you'd have never thought of. Eighty Eights, Ninety Eights, Cutlass Supreme Broughams, etc.

ok thanks Olds64 and Dave. I'm in London at present so makes it hard to find stock from parts yards... I'll keep a look out on e-bay. Cheers.
