Intake manifold

Hello
I'm trying to find an original intake for a rocket 350. Does the intake from a 455 fit on a 350? Would anyone have a pic of an original intake.
Thanks for any help
Solon

Pretty sure I posted photos of just about every intake known so maybe find that thread? Decide what features you need as far as type of choke, number of coolant temp sensors etc then go shopping.

An Olds 350 is from the small block family. Intakes are about 12" wide. A 455 Olds is from the big block family. Intakes are about 13.5" wide.

What year/version 350 intake are you looking for? They vary from year-to-year with vacuum and coolant ports. Also, where are you located, as a cast iron intake isn't cheap to ship.

That's a better start
Any of the 70-72 small blocks can donate. Hor Air type choke. pre-EGR. enough coolant sensor openings.

The large ID near the front in the depression usually will be #10, 12, or 14

404520
MANIFOLD, Intake Manifold, Iron, 4-bbl, Casting ID = "10"
1970 350 4BC SB
Heater Fitting Threads LARGE [3/4" NPT]

407565
MANIFOLD, Intake Manifold, Iron, 4-bbl, Casting "12" #12
1971 350 4BC SB
Heater Fitting Threads LARGE [3/4"]

410446
MANIFOLD, Intake Manifold, Iron, 4-bbl, Casting ID = "14"
1972 350 4BC SB
Heater Fitting Threads LARGE [3/4"]

$40-50 should ship one of these to you from any of the lower 48 states. Less if closer.

If you can live with one sporting an EGR port, then the later #16-17 castings are a cheaper? option, or, better yet, the later A4 aluminum unit, of which I have a spare at this time, or you may still find in your local boneyard. It came on engines having heads ID'd 3A, 4A, or 5A. They are usually quite affordable. And they fit right.

The most concise summary of the anwer to the original inquiry, yes.

I assumed that this exact item would be a little hard to find since I do not currently have one, so offered alternatives to ease the burden.

There are as far as I know ZERO significant differences between the 10=12=14 intakes except for the casting ID and 6-digit casting number.

Outside of that family, staying with Hot Air Choke, we get the EGR units, which might-as-well you right into an affordable available A4 casting.

Or any of several aftermaket items for which you can start modifying everything that touches them to get it to fit and work.

So, original poster, does your car require the 100% correct #14 casting [so much easier to find and read than the 6-digit casting number].... or what are your exact requirements?

I'm not really dead set on anything. I was trying to stay with all original Oldsmobile parts or what might have originally came on a cutlass.

The car was bought with an aluminum Holley street dominator intake. Could reuse this , maybe for performance , but was trying to stick to original if it can stay in my budget.
Thanks

If you aren't going after a points type correct resto, I'd stick with the aluminum manifold. You can always paint it gold to match the engine.

I'll second that. If you really want to fool people, carefully grind off the HOLLEY logo, sandblast the intake to hide the grind marks, and paint it to match the engine.
