Anybody have a hot gas bypass valve for a 58? I can use one from nearby years as it's the internals I need -- have the externals! Fingers crossed!!!

 

The part number for your 58 is 1998833, group 9.198

If it helps, Original Air rebuilds them, and also sells the kits. I think the diaphragm kit is $63.

thanks very much for the information and reply . Sadly for me, I have the rebuild kit but have some internal damage to machined parts that need to be replaced -- ; not just the rubber. SO,.....I figure any HG valve on any GM from the period will give me what I need in terms of internals.

Nothin's easy!

If I were you, I would call Original Air and see if they have parts for your valve. Also see if parts are interchangeable through the mid to late 50's A/C systems. The folks at Original Air seem easy to talk to.
