Are the retainers the same for both sides? If not right or left?

They are marked "left" and "right" on the parts, due to the bolt pattern.

Recently (like a day or 2 ago) on ROP there was an older post someone selling for louvers and retainers. Same color as your car, too! I know you only need the one retainer, but it's a thought....I think 75. Then dump the louvers. Body shops suck. They lost an NOS set of my 442 emblems!

My painter spent hours masking and painting MY louvers, dump them, I think not!

I think he meant dump the louvers that were for sale on the other site once you have the retainer.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Keep the retainers, and sell the used louvers off.

In one of my favorite yards today & saw this hood sitting in the mud. Pulled the retainers for you, but they are rusty.
I found another hood still on a car & pulled those & they are nice.
Give me a call if you still need them?

Wait a Minute, these metal strips pictures above are what hold the louvers on a 71-72 hood louvers on? Mine have little plastic type body shop style "speed nuts" holding them on. anyone got a picture on their car?

Sorry to hijack, but I might be missing something and I didn't even know.

Just wanted to bump this. Mine are clearly attached wrong. Oldspackrat, do you still have the rusty retainers? Got a picture?
