detent switch

I need a firewall mounted detent switch for my 66 olds cutlass convertible. Can anyone help? Pedal mount switches are every where. Thanks.

I have 'a 66 98 I'm parting out. Here are a couple switches, not sure if they're the same as a cutlass? I have pulled the switch & can get better pix later if needed?

detent switch

Hey, the switch I need is the round aluminum switch next to your voltage regulator on the fire wall. It has a linkage to the carb and on to gas pedal. It should have two wires on it. Let me know how much you want and I want it. My phone is 864-910-6591. Ask for Ted. Thanks

Not to be a fly in the ointment, the 66 switch serves 2 functions unless the 66 is a manual transmission. 1st function is the switch pitch torque converter and the second is passing gear. There are 3 wires, 1 power and the other 2 plug into the trans.

hard to believe...

I know it is hard to believe but my paperwork says this one had the high compression 330 with a factory TH 400 and a 317 limited slip rear end. The column indicator is for a three speed.

Even the T400 in that year had a variable torque converter although it normally came with a 400 instead of the 330.

Sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't get a two speed with a variable pithch. I just have the kind of odd mix of the three speed with a single pitch converter.

Here are a couple pix of the switch assembly. Take a look & let me know what you think or I'll try to call you tomorrow.
