Out of curiosity, why not a new one? Cost? Anything original is going to be 45 years old and probably not in the greatest of shape as why would someone remove one if it was in good shape?

Don't waste money on a used carpet. You can get new carpet from suppliers like Fusicks and Kanter. They have different selections on the pile cut and color. Plus the price is right. If you get a used carpet then it will at least be faded, not to mention it might be stained or damaged.

Cost was the main factor, but thinking about it a new carpet would get rid of that oldy-moldy smell.

You gotta save up for a new one. Besides the two places that Olds64 mentioned, just do a google search for auto carpeting. There are many places that can sell you carpet that will fit your car and can match the original color and style, and prices do vary. Even JC Whitney has carpeting. You can also try local auto upholstery shops. They'll often do carpeting, too, if you would rather have it done instead of doing it yourself.

In addition to being worn, faded, and smelly, I've never been able to remove an carpet from an old car (I've done it three times now) without tearing it or ripping it somewhere. Of course, I've never taken one out with the intention of putting it back in, but I've never taken one out of a 30 or 40 year old car that I would want to re-use.

I've also found that there are few things that will pick up the interior of an old car faster than putting in a new carpet. It's like night and day. If the seats are re-done at the same time, then it's like getting a whole new car, at least as far as the interior goes. It gives you a lot of satisfaction.

Removing/Installing a carpet is easy.

Just getting a bit impatient as summer is here already!

The carpet is a medium blue, not dark blue as from the factory. Matches the seat covers.

You can match the color and spary the carpet on the doors yourself, there are a few products out the and personally i like SEM overall, can be used for carpets and vinyl.

Any place that sells carpet will be glad to sell you extra yards of the exact same material, cut from the same bolt, so it's fully color matching, as was used to make the floor carpet you order, if you order it at the time you order the floor carpeting. Order enough extra to cover what you need, then cut it yourself to fit. As HolidayCoupe says, you can use a spray-on adhesive to hold the carpet to the door.

If you're just ordering for the door, you can purchase as many yards of carpet as you want in whatever color you want from the same vendor as you ordered the floor carpet, but they likely could not guarantee a 100.000% color match because you're ordering at different times, so what you get will come from different lots. But my guess is that the color difference, if any, will be unnoticeable.
