blower resistor connector for AC cutlass
Hello, I have been searching for a blower resistor connector for about 10 years and cant seem to find one. My car is a 1970 cutlass supreme. I will try to post a pic.
Thank you, Mike

blower resistor
I have been to junk yards, this one is different. All of the ones I found have the pins in a straight line. Mine has one turned sideways. If I could figure out how to upload a pic I will post one.

Someone on here will have one.
Easy enough to let them know that you're looking for one that goes: | ||
Meanwhile, there's nothing wrong with using regular ¼" spade connectors.

Oh.
That's an easy one. From his description, I thought it was a four-terminal plug, which is a whole different story.
Does it look like this, then?
$1.65 a piece from Performance Connectors.

It looks similar to it but without dimensions its hard to say for certain if that one would work. The original plug does not have a locking tab on it but if the terminal layout was the same then tab would not cause an issue.
If he thought the original design was a 4 terminal plug, I guess that would explain the 10 year search.

It comes in black, too.
We'll see. Hey, Mike, you still here?

Sure sounds to me like he's looking for a single connector with four pins.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the original design did not use a single connector over those 4 terminals. Even the CSM shows a picture that while a little hard to see, does show 2 plugs to deal with the 4 terminals. 68-70 uses the same equipment and I have restored a few 69's, both with AC and parted several with AC too. It's a 2 plug design.

Yeah, I saw the CSM illustrations, too.
I agree that two plugs makes more sense.
I've had 2 '68s and 3 '70s with A/C, and it sounds like what I remember through the distant mists of time.

OK I feel like a real idiot. Eric I do have the gray one. I purchased this car with the AC stripped out 10 years ago. I located all of the parts out in California and had them shipped to me. Trouble is they packed the compressor with the evaporator core box and broke it. I called and they sent me another one and knowing the plug was melted I pulled the one out of the broken box and have been in search of the wrong plug for a long time, I'm sorry for the confusion. Now I don't know if the box is out of a 70, 71 or 72 Cutlass. Can anybody tell me if this is the correct box by this the connector.
Sorry, Mike

Okay, now it's starting to make sense.
The resistor you pictured below is from a '68 - '70 car.
The plug I pictured should fit it just fine, but not that one terminal that's hanging out away from the others, which gets a single terminal plug.
Just get a plug for whatever resistor fits in the hole in your evaporator housing.

Ok cool, I have the resistor with all straight pins None sideways, it would be the first pic posted. Sounds like thats not correct for 70. So Imay have installed a box for a later model, right?
