Paint the ones you have or buy another set and paint them.

Question Black 455 valve covers

Are you looking for aluminum valve covers that are black? Thanks, Bob.

Wasn't the 403 painted black?

The best valve covers to get are the OE valve covers stamped with Oldsmobile. I believe they used them on the 455 starting in 73.

How are these any better than others? They all fit and work the same except the ones with notch's for brake and AC clearance. Maybe you mean best looking.

No. It's a scientifically proven fact that the Oldsmobile stamped valve covers are good for at least 25 hp on the butt dyno. The guy with the red beard told me so.

And the notched valve covers have better aerodynamics under the hood. I am suspecting wind tunnel tests could confirm that. I can't tell you who told me that, so don't spread it around.

All the 403's I have ever seen were blue... As for the stamped valve covers, they were on small blocks as well...
