I will try to look today but thought it was part of the casting of the block and just the lower section was detachable to where the trans bolts up.

The QT 8070 is for the late 330-455 engines.

Probably 3/4 of the rear of the block IS the housing. A fairly thick and heavy lower section with the peep cover plate is the other part. That I have if we are on the same page. If you are looking to update to another trans I believe someone makes an adapter plate to bolt to the rear and to hook up a later trans.

Definately different for 63/4. Not sure about 61/2 but expect them to be the same.
