70-72 Console

I'm looking for a 70-72 console that fits the Dual Gate shifter. Doesn't have to be fancy just functional. Any ideas would be appreciated also.
Thanks,
George

Any 70-72 console will work with a DG...after a little trimming using the factory perforation lines on the bottom of the console. I need to do this also so if you have any luck, let me know how it goes...thanks!

Thanks Scott. I wasn't aware that any auto console would work.

Yeah they are all the same. They even used the same one for the 4 speeds with an insert for the shift boot.

what kind of condition are you looking for? i have one that is not perfect but looks nice for a driver. it is for a standard shifter now but it could be converted to a dual gate. i painted it with SEM landau black. it has a couple chips and cracks. the hinge area is not broken or cracked. the door is not any good and the metal for the bottom of the door is missing. i would take $200 as is or $240 with a used dual gate top plate and wood grain insert. it would still need cut for the dual gate. i can send more pics in an e mail if you think you may be interested. if not it will find it's way to feeBay. i also have one listed on eBay now that is real nice but would also have to be converted.

Here are some pics. The first is the hole you'll end up with, the second one points to the notch on the side where the tab on the shift indicator plate will slip into and the third is where you cut indicated by the blue lines. A plastic wheel on a Dremel makes quick work of it.

Thx Jensen. After some more thinking on this I am going to try and modify my 66 console to work. I think I can do it but it will take some work but look more at home in my Cutlass. I was toying with the idea of making something custom but I think the originals look nice enough and I like the fact I can use my vacuum gauge also. Thanks for your help, your consoles look excellent.
This all started after I came back from my Buddies house yesterday afternoon. He's restoring a 70 442 that is superb and just mint throughout. Looking at his car gave me some ideas and encouraged me to do something with my console but now I think I'll take another route and see what I can come up with. Thanks again
