You might have better luck posting in the Parts Wanted section rather than dredging up a five year old thread. I've moved you to your very own thread now. FYI, all 1965-67 BBO short stroke cranks interchange - early 400s and 425s use the same 3.98" stroke and all are forged. Your machine shop can machine the pilot bearing hole in an AT crank.

400 E crank wanted

I have a couple early (400/425) cranks. I have one fresh from the machine shop; I believe that it is a stick crank. I will check. Email me direct: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

If Rocketman269V only has automatic crankshafts you can have a machine shop cut it for the pilot bearing/bushing. I had this done several years ago and not a big deal for a competent machine shop. There's a couple old threads here that have the dimensions of the hole needing cut, I printed that off and took it in with the crank. That may be easier than locating one that's already setup for a manual transmission. Just a thought, John

I just had my local machine shop cut crank to spec for bearing and they charged me $200. 25 years ago same shop charged $46.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm feeling better about the block getting back into its A body. I'm hoping to find std crank and avoid the search for a shop to machine the hole in that steel. I'm hoping the black cloud that has followed this car soon will go away like we want this virus to do. It's the 1st car I've ever owned that has been a pain like I've never experienced. Now I understand what it feels like to own a problem.
An early thank you to the ones who years ago posted the machining specs. I'm certain I got to go a lil way out of this town to locate the " competent machine shop " so I don't have to cut the input shaft.

I'm thinking they just have to drill a hole deep enough for the pilot shaft and then use an after market bearing that fit the torque converter hole instead of using the manual bushing.
