330 v8 part needed

I think I am missing a part that tells you were the timing marks are when your looking at the harmonic balencer on my engine.I seem to remember when I bought the car it had a tin plate with numbers riveted to a bracket bolted next to the harmonic balencer.I may be wrong but could swear it had a tin piece with numbers.I would know for sure if someone had a picture of that area of a car with a 330.This came to mind when I was trying to time my car and the spots that looked correct for the timing were way off.I did get it timed good bit it ended up being more by ear than anything.

Thanks that should tell me if I am missing anything or not.But if I am not then that would make new questions as to why the timing marks were so far off.I should take a picture of the bracket in my car as well.

Smile 330 v8 part needed

Once you determine if you need a timing tab or not, I have them for pretty much any engine. Thanks, Bob.

Hmm I don't know what I was thinking about then.I do have that piece in my car.I forgot to take a picture today but it is on the motor like the pictures you all have shown. The car runs decent but I was trying to time it with a timing light and when you lined the marks up it would either run like crud or not at all.But this was last year as well and I have since put a petronics electronic kit in and a differnt pvc valve in.So the car runs darn good now.She smokes a bit so some day I will have to get the valves done.Well thanks to all and still not sure what the heck I was thinking about. The mind tends to work some weird ways

From what I know my engine is origional to the car.The trans is rebuilt, but as far as I know the motor is origional. The story I was told was a elderly gent owned the car.The car was in the south for some time and the owner let his grandson drive it at college in cali for awile. Now wether that has any truth to it is unknown. The car has a sticker on the bumper that says myrtle beach campground with a number on it.So the car has been around.

MD I haven't seen those tall wing nut valve covers hold downs in a hundred years. Damn they are ugly!

Easy. Either upload a picture like you did in your post, or select someone else's picture, either on this board, or anywhere else on the web, "left-click" or "control-click" on the picture and select to copy its URL, place your cursor where you want to put the picture in your post, click the "postcard" icon (), paste the URL into the window that pops up, and you're done.

Just remember that if you pick someone else's picture, it may not last forever, and if the link you chose dies, all future readers will see is the "broken picture" icon.
