Looking for a OBD1 scanner/code reader for this car.Want one that can clear codes.

 

If you're in Minnesota I have a GM Tech 1 that we could clear codes with.

In an OBD 1 system you should be able to disconnect the battery for a few moments, and the codes should clear from the computer. Have you tried Jumping pins A and B on the OBD connector and watching the dash light? It will flash out the code. Im sure there is a Thread somewhere explaining this in more detail then I am.

 

You can use a paperclip or this tool; OTC 7739, to get the codes from your computer.

I disconnected the battery.but the abs light didn’t go out.

 

There should be a way to pull codes and see what abs code you have through the DIC

 

How long did you disconnect the battery? Even if you leave the battery disconnected over night and it clears the code, it will reset the code when you start driving again if there is a fault.
