1973 Cutlass Door Hinge Springs

Looking to find a new set of door hinge springs for my 1973 Cutlass. Not too much luck. Anybody got a GM part number (interchange?) or where I can buy some new ones?

Thx

Haven't seen any repops. Have you considered just rebuilding your old ones? You could also check with John (2blu442) - he has some 73 stuff that he's parted out. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...o=newpm&u=2171

Very nice looking car BTW. You should increase the number of pics in your album.....

BTW, there's a trick to seating the back of the hood so it's more flush by the wind shield. You need a helper. Loosen both sides of the spring mount on fender (both sides of car). Have your helper push upward in the center of the hood as high as it will go. Tighten the bolts and check your fitment. Pushing up forces the rear to lower. That's how body shops do it. Prolly the same as when Olds built the car. They had to do hood installation in a matter of minutes for each car.

Front hinge - Upper: Group 10.450 Part number 9617201 RH 9617202 LH
Front hinge - Lower: Group 10.454 Part number 9625376 (same for both sides)

Thanks for the reply. For some reason the illustration manual doesn't list the springs. Also thanks for the hood advice. We've had that issue for a few years. The picture is an older one before I started the resto. At this time the frame is pretty much done and I'm just getting the rear quarter ready for installation. I'll try for more pictures in the album. Our canadian winters + a liberal road salt use equals rust. Not many have survived around here.

Specially when you're in the Ontario rust belt. One other thing that contributed to the demise of the 73's early was that was a bad year for sheet metal at GM. Wasn't pure - had all kinds of crap in it that caused premature rusting. I know about the rust down there, I bought a Ninety Eight that lived in Barrie Ont for the first 4 years of it's life...say no more....

If it's just the bushings on the doors that are shot, I'd try the rebuild first - way cheaper.

I have a couple of those springs on my 74 442 parts cars. PM me if you still need them.
