1966 Oldsmobile 88 Dash Pad
Findind a parts car with a good dash pad might be difficult. If you have the money to restore the original dash pad then Just Dashes does an excellent job. If you don't want to spend as much find a local interior shop. I'm sure you could have them cover the dash in fabric, vinyl, or faux leather. I've seen cars done this way before and they look great if done correctly.

Ya I was just able to locate some dashes for a 1966, I'd of went with a 65 dash pad but its just me being too fussy about one small item on the gear indicator, I have a 65 dash pad in my 66 4 door which i picked up for $35 not a crack or damage on it....shame because i woulda sold it to you for your 65 jetstar (awesome 4 speed btw!!!), I dyed that dash pad with SEM color restore and it looks great, I also have given it thought to get my original restored but the price is crazy last time I was quoted
Thanks...its been a while, but I thought there was also a diff. between the 65 and 66 dashes in how the center section above the speedometer "waterfall" down. Was not aware of diffference in the gear indicator area.
I found my dash in a now defunct Olds junkyard near me...dozens of early to mid 60s fullsize cars. I should admit that I ruined one perfect dash I found trying to remove it, though its true also that you needed only to LOOK at the thing in order for it to crack, it was that brittle. The one I did get, amazingly, had good, supple vinyl.

There have been posts on our website about members repairing small cracks in the dash with LiquidNail or other compounds. If your dash isn't too bad this might be worth looking into. I guess it is a method that works...
Good info on that there Olds64 Thanks, I'm going to look into it. And aliensatemybuick lol nice name....yeah I compared the 2 and the dashes are identical except for a small insert that goes into the gear shift indicator. I have a mixed bag of interior parts in my 4 Door 66 Olds Delta 88 from various years, everything blends nicely and has the original looks to it, but when I start work on my 2 Door I plan to use all 1966 parts in best condition. Anyways thank you guys for the info and replies.
A final option would be to purchase a dash cover from your local auto parts store. I guess you can get velour/tweed covers for the dash that are molded to a specific year in numerous desired colors. I saw one of these on a 2005 Chrysler 300. It looked sharp. Of course, it just covers the damage to the original dash. I think they run about $50.
