Thanks for the replies. I see now that a 19" is supposed to fit both from your comments and the parts book. I actually have the 7 blade 19" and it is hitt ing the shroud. I want to figure out what's up before buying another fan.
If it is larger diameter that would be an issue also the width of the blades on the seven is wider than the 6 and therefore brings it closer to the engine also be certain your clutch is not loose worn out but by all means don't run it like that actual 6 blade diameter is 19.3 radiator top plate and our fan shroud not being of the proper year also could contribute or the top plate being originally a three core and not properly transitioned onto a four corr will raise your fan shroud as well and remember a radiator and a hood along with the shroud is a terrible thing to waste
I have seen this situation a number of times at my shop. Aftermarket fan shrouds sometimes are not exact reproductions. Also, check the clearance between your oil pan and the front crossmember. As mentioned above, your engine mounts could be collapsed or your front crossmember could also be collapsed. See if the long bolts that hold the engine insulators (mounts) to the frame pads will come out without hitting the crossmember. It's just a couple of things to look for. I hope this helps.
