1100777 Olds Alternator Wanted - 55 Amp Externally Regulated

EDIT/ADD: Found what I was looking for....thanks

I'm looking for a nice alternator core to restore/rebuild as follows:

>1100777 stamping number - this is a 55 amp unit and is a fairly common alt number when it comes to Oldsmobiles since it was used on AC equipped cars and cars w/"HD Cooling and Generator" option.

>DATE CODE - Car was built February 1968 so I want a date code on the alt prior to that...3 months prior and less would be desirable.

>This is a "regular" Olds alternator......nothing rare like the open face alternators, etc. It was designed for use with a external voltage regulator.

>Nice fan and pulley would be a bonus.

GOOD/focused, etc pics will be required and I may request additional photos. GOOD packaging also required.....not looking to save a few bucks with smaller box packaging.....that ends up damaging the alt.

Here's a couple pics of the front and rear alternator case styles this will have.....

Patton, the date code should be 12 7 or 1 8, 2 8 correct?

John - you have the years reversed.

Here are some examples of what would work for me:

Remember....FEBRUARY 1968 BUILD DATE FOR THE CAR (I'll find out the actual day of the month and post it). On alts it's a year/month/day of the year sequence.

February 1968 alt would be: 8 B XX ( "XX" being day of the month)

January 1968 alt would be: 8 A XX

December 1967 alt would be: 7 M XX (NOTE: the letter "I" is skipped over by GM to avoid confusion

November 1967 alt would be 7 L XX

OK, I started looking at alternators and decided I had the date code wrong. I believe this is December 1967. Let me know if I got that right and if you're interested in this one Patton. John

Oops! I see we were typing at the same time. So this may be too early for you as a November 1967.

No - not too early. Sure, within a month or so of the car build date might be optimum but here we are how many years later trying to split hairs?

Here's a pic I just took showing a September 19, 1966 alt date code stamping.

I'll PM you John.

I think I have one but it has been polished. Not sure if it will help or not but can check the date code if need be.

Mike - Thanks for replying. I think I'm good on finding the alt I need. Trying to find one for a stock resto so polished wouldn't work for us.

Thanks for your reply. I found one back in April of last year (as indicated in my reply/post #9 above).

I'll edit my initial posting to reflect this....sorry about that.
