Parting 1967 Toronado Updated list on 6/29/2014

Hi All
I figured I'd get more coverage on ebay and a better chance of selling parts with more views. So far its not working out that way. If any members of Classicoldsmobile win one of the auctions I'll provide them a discount of 10%. The car is an odd one, no power windows, seat, locks or tilt tele. But it does have front disc brakes, cornering lights, power antenna and vinyl top. That last detail... both the front and back windshields leak really bad due to rust from the vinyl top.

Door panels look good, nice bench seat but its not the stratobench. Most of the interior is good and its black in color. Here's what I have on ebay right now:

Power Antenna Sold
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211332874...84.m1555.l2649

Cornering Lights Sold
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211338765...84.m1555.l2649

Air Cleaner Sold
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211370375...84.m1555.l2649

Dash over Instrument PanelSold
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211339314...84.m1555.l2649

Unsold items relisted 6/28

Headlight Switch and vacuum lines, tested works good
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211328253...84.m1555.l2649

Black Kick Panels Non-AC
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131211343634...84.m1555.l2649

1966 Backseat side panels with power window switches, Aqua
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131228243687...84.m1555.l2649
I've got a set of maroon ones from a 1967, just not sure where I put them right now.

6/29 added the following:

Instrument panel, speedometer and gauges
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131229096092...84.m1555.l2649

Clock
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131229084832...84.m1555.l2649

Non-AC heater controls
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131229088373...84.m1555.l2649

I still need to remove the rest of the interior, doors are solid, pass side quarter panel OK but drivers side is rusty. Contact me with questions about anything. Progress dismantling is slow, but I hope to save all the good parts and make the rest go away as soon as I'm able to.

I'm surprised no one has purchased the 425 engine, as they are a great engine, especially when transplanted into a Cutlass. Big bore/short stroke always works, along with a steel crank to boot.

Hi Anthony
I've actually got a couple dozen extra engines, 330's to 455's. But since I'm hanging out on the West Coast shipping costs to the Mid-West or East Coast can really add up. If you need a crank, block, set of heads or whole motor keep me in mind!

Hi John, I saw your power antenna listed on ebay the other day, was wondering if it's the same part # for the chrome spacer as was used for 68-69 Cutlass sedan and convertible? It would be part # 400018 and may be cast inside the spacer. I Have a power antenna setup that I'd like to install in my 68 442 convertible but it originally came out of a 68 Cutlass hardtop, so it has the notched spacer that wraps over the peak of the quarter panel. I've been looking and cannot find a reproduction of this part, so I was wondering if any other Olds or GM car power antenna of the era may have used that same spacer.

Thanks, Mark

I am looking for a first generation Toronado fuel tank sending unit. Does not have to work, but needs to be at least rebuildable.

Hi Mark
It looks like the chrome piece that sits against the fender is a different number and likely a different shape. I've got a hardtop and set it on the space between the deck lid and outer edge of the quarter panel and it looks like that area isn't wide enough. Then if I put it on the front fender its angled. So I believe the power antenna may fit, but I'm skeptical that the spacer is correct to make it sit level. Attached are some pictures of what I came up with. Let me know if you have any other questions. John

I started by pulling the front clip, engine and transmission since I had someone wanting the transmission. Then I moved to the interior and am still trying to find all the fasteners to remove the dash pads. I will give you first chance at the sending unit once I drop the gas tank. John

Thanks for the detailed info & pictures John! I'd be using it on the rear quarter of my 68 convertible and it looks like it has the same angle as the Cutlass spacer application for convert's just a bit shorter, but that probably wouldn't matter much since the antenna assembly could be adjusted down a little to compensate I would think. Thanks again.

Actually after reviewing the first generation Toronado service manuals I see that a 67 sending unit will not work on my 68. Looks like 1966 - 1967 Toronado fuel tank sending units had no fuel line connections at all and then both of the fuel lines simply connected directly to the side of the tank. Then the 1968 - 1970 Toronado sending units were a canister style with a single fuel line connection and then the return line connects directly to the tank.

I am so tired of not having a working fuel gauge. I think I am finally to the point of putting my Toronado completely out of commission while I send my original off to be rebuilt...

John, does the car have A/C? If so, I'm looking for all mounting brackets for the engine. I have a 425, but the previous owner wanted to keep the A/C brackets. Thanks.

Hi Eric
This is a non-ac car. But I know I've pulled a couple 1966-67 425's that did come from AC equipped cars. You need the compressor brackets, and also the alternator and power steering brackets from an AC engine? What else do you need?

I may also need pulleys. I would rather play it safe and get those also. Thanks!

Three of the items on ebay sold. I didn't recognize the names, but if any were member here ask for your CO discount!

I've got the instrument panel in pieces. I've not had any requests for those items so I'll toss them on ebay too. The items that didn't sell, I dropped the price a little on each and relisted them.

Eric, here's some brackets I removed from a 1966 or 67 Toro several years ago. Also, not long ago J-(Chicago) had a set of these brackets for sale. If he still has them you might save on shipping buying from him. John

I could use the clips that hold the long low rocker trim on. Also the fuel line clips and brake line clips. I can email pics of what I need if you would like.

Hi Paul
Sorry, I missed that you'd replied to this thread. I would like to keep the clips with the rocker stainless to see if anyone wants to purchase them. The stainless does have damage, but I'd like to try an offer them for sale with the clips to install them.

Please send me an email with pictures of the fuel line and brake line clips.
