There is absolutely no reason to put a bid in on ebay before the last few seconds of an auction. Early bids only serve to get others to raise the price.

There were 40 bids when Thornton Muscle Cars was selling their OAI. Price was $1100.

Just my 2¢, but it distracts a lot of buyers when the ad for the OEM OAI is combined with the Thornton one showing half the price for new. I guess this comes down to how important OEM is, or whether you can afford one or the other.

OK, adding my 2¢ and I 100% concur. if you want to buy stuff on ebay, don't bid, and bid... you are only driving the price you are going to pay up. I use a sniper site https://www.myibidder.com/ once you decide what you are willing to pay, enter the amount and go back to working on your Olds. the site will place your max bid in the time you specify (I generally use the 3 seconds of the auction) and done. Instead of driving the bid up, you just have to beat the highest bid. (providing your "willing to pay" amount is higher. anyway, Ive been using it for years and am very satisfied. now back to turning wrenches...
