EBay OAI Hood

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Does anyone know anything about this company selling Fiberglass OAI hoods? If you scroll down to the bottom of the ad and read the description, you'll see their claims. Just wondering if anyone has bought from them and what any opinions might be???

In looking at the pictures, the one on the car has the cutout to make it functional, and the one on the ground, doesn't.
I wouldn't want to be responsible for cutting it out!!
I'd be holding back, both for 'New part problems', [design + fitment] and let them get quality issues out of the way, too!

First time I've heard of them. They've taken the market a step further with the addition of steel reinforcing that others still haven't done. I would have liked to see an all steel liner, but this one looks like it will accept the latch assembly from my T44 hood lock. That's a plus. Have you called them and asked any questions?

I'm not seeing what you're describing. I think the part you're looking at is the bottom liner that has yet to be bonded with the top. The top layers should have the functional air box, no need to cut out anything.

The only thing I'd be wanting to see is the fitment along the fenders, and how much of the rear has to be shaved to allow the cowl stainless to go on.

I've had an all glass hood on my car for 11 years and not one problem! The one on e-bay don't look too bad plus there are 2 guys who bought them in the feedback that I looked up. They seemed satisfied. If its a driver go for it, makes the car stand out!

I was just asking about these folks on another thread, am curious as well:

http://www.fiberpartsconcepts.com/index.html

Above is their' home page, more pics, etc. As I mentioned in the other thread, word of mouth has it that someone from Thorton went on their' own, but that's rumor mill, fyi. Their' hood looks very much like the new Parts Place hood, wonder if that's who does them for Parts Place?

Would love to hear more feedback from anyone who's had firsthand experience with these hoods....

Just thought I'd give this a bump and see if anybody on here has purchased or knows someone who did??? In the same boat as most. Love the look of that hood and really want one. Just can't seem to part with the money that Thornton gets for one. Not for a non original car. It looks like he's willing to let them go for around $710.00 by the sales he's made so far. I have contacted him through his sight and through ebay to see if I could pick one up and save on the shipping. I only live about 25 miles from him. He has been very straight forward answering my questions. Just lookin' for a little more feedback. Thanks guys...Happy (and safe) Holidays

I would be the Ginny pig on this one, but I'm just not ready for it yet. Someone else needs to step up.
