If I were closer I’d be all over this.

That’s a excellent core. Since it’s 71 and older, it should have the valuable roller clutch style drum that will accept a 34 element sprag. Since it came from a big car, most likely it will have the extra webbing in the bellhousing bolt area, the thicker oil pan flange, and the extra webbing around the extension housing mounts flange, and almost certainly will have 8 bolts holding the pump to the case. It will also have the good cast aluminum pistons instead of the later model flimsy stamped steel pistons.

These are the cores I prefer to use when people want to cut off the bellhousing for UltraBell installation. I HATE it when people want to cut up perfectly good Chevy cases for UltraBells.

Someone grab this, get a short output shaft and extension housing, and use it to build a kick *** transmission.
