Oldsmobile early 350 long block

I just bought a Olds 350 home with me. Casting number number 395558-2 with number 5 heads. Looks like it's all there except the distributor cap. 2 Barrel carb. I'll have to degrease it to learn more. $350.

Steve 719-487-8297 Colorado Springs.

I actually wouldn't know the difference between a 350 small block to the 350 long block. Were the early year 350's bigger? I always thought they were all the same.

I've always heard the term short block for complete bottom end, but no heads or intake. Then the long block as having the heads included. Rebuilders here use those terms to mean that anyway.

You are correct John the way you explained it.

Yes it has heads water pump, intake and a 2 barrel carburetor. Its all greasy which should have protected it well. Snowing hard here but can't wait to degrease it. It has a flywheel still attached and it turns. The guy had the tranny to go with it. Still available from his small yard.
