FREE Air cleaner

Anybody need this beauty?
Rocketraider said it's for a 74-80 I think.

FREE you only have to pay shipping and this low milage, one owner, genuine Oldsmobile one of a [something] air cleaner is yours.

It comes with jamesbo's world famous "Oklahoma Guarantee."

"If it breaks in half, you own both pieces"

Come to think of it, it's already in 2 pieces.

Looks like some Oklahoma river rock mixed in there, too...

The guarantee i put on my lab work here at work is "I always stand behind my work.
Usually 50-60 feet behind, just to be safe..."

I would take the air cleaner but the stickers crooked.

The correct term would be washed Oklahoma river bank gravel, I snowblow Ohio river bank gravel at my neighbor's house from my driveway. Most people call them lucky stones around here, not too lucky when they fly out of the mower chute and ricochet off a tree back into your skull when cutting the grass.

We used the brake light guarantee at the gas stations I worked at.

Try posting on 73-77olds.com Since that has the metal piece on the end of the snorkel I believe it's 74 or maybe 75 in vintage. They went to a plastic piece in the mid to late 1970's. 442much should know. John

It's the offset aircleaner going by the stud hole in the lid. It'll work on any HEI equipped Olds engine.

I think it means if the hole the center is actually off to the side a litlte. It allows clearance of the HEI.

But if rocketraider says it'll fit, give me a quote to 01581. I wan't it.

Ok, so this would fit on a 1972 cutlass s with a 350 and an HEI distributor. This is what I would need as opposed to the normal, not offset air cleaner. Do these work with the heat tubes?

it will fit but if you use the hot air pipe, you will need a flexible one to hook it up. i don't think the original pipe will have the right bend to it.

It looks a little small. Can i get a measurement across the circular part so I can compare? And an estimate to 01581?

Do you mean the carb hole or the total outside dem. I've got it hanging next to 2-69's and they look like the same overall outside demension. I think it's right at 17" across the top

The picture indicated what I was refering to. I meant the total outside dem. It looked in the first picture that the dem as substantially smaller than the non HEI ones. Whats a price shipped to 01581?

Its going to be "refinished" and put on a 72 cutlass, with an aftermarket 4bbl carb. (Hopefully). I'm kinda shocked no one else needs it. I'm kinda wondering I think its right for me and maybe its not?

oh. I thought that it might be right for the application. I have an HEI distributor and want to put a factory looking air cleaner on it. I know its not the correct vintage, but it should look very close to "original" correct. It would be right for that, correct?

Hey Jamesbo,

I think you created a monster.
Just take it out and run it over with your truck and put the poor thing out of it's misery for both of your sakes.

No kidding. The stupid things sits around for a year and all of a sudden it's more desirable than a W-30 air cleaner.

For those of you who wanted it. Sorry, it's been spoken for.

Hang in there, I'll be digging thru some more precious stuff soon.

Ain't that the truth, give things way and they try to talk down the price and get critical too.

I think somebody has a new food bowl for his Purina Bear Chow.

Interestingly enough, I have a 71 98 with a 455 and it has a Summit HEI distributor on it that doesn't interfere with the stock air cleaner. I guess the aftermarket HEI distributor could be considerably smaller than the stock HEI distributor but it doesn't seem to be. Plus, the stock air cleaner isn't offset and doesn't have a notch cut into the back for distributor clearance. I don't know if that helps, just mentioning it...
