8 track player

Looks like one I found in a 66 toronado in a wrecking yard 10 years ago.
Cool retro look for a classic car.
Good luck on the sale!

Just to let you know....
It is used, slightly. I cleaned the heads and checked the belt. The belt looks great, soft, elastic, lots of use left. I bench tested it today, well actually I "rad support tested" it today.
Simply hooked a speaker to one of the outputs. Power wire straight off the battery and grounded to chassis. First tape went in with a clunk. SOUND! the deck seems fine. A little cleaning and TLC and it will be a great addition. The POT for the volume is a little cracklely so I will have to clean the POTs too.
Here's a quick mock up of how I will mount it for real. Hopefully tomorrow!

Hey Adam,
Glad you got your 8 track. Can I offer a suggestion ( I know - trust no one ), but this is something that would go a long way to tricking out Millie to make your gages and 8 track look more 'stock'.
Have a look at the products that W70442 (Randy) makes. He makes factory correct 8 track housings, but he also makes custom ones that would house all you've got and make it look more like it was born that way. He does custom orders and if you sent the dimensions of the 8 track, I know he would work with you.
Scroll through his lineup in this thread: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...-housings.html
The pics in Millie made me think of this unit without the wood grain

I agree 100% That will/should be a winter spruce up. I want/need to get the gauges hooked back up for fun drivability. My old Temp and Oil pods are a little too crusty. The oil gauge has started to seep (not at the line inlet either).
I do really like Randy's work and the one you posted I was thinking about. I'd skip the wood grain and go for a textured black like the rest of the plastic dash. I am horny right now to cruise with some of my Alice Cooper, Queen and Kiss 8-Tracks. Throw in some Johnny Cash are Merle Haggard and we are good for ever.
Thanks for adding to the MAW list. BTW, Carb is in process too. I think I have things straight in my head. Since I am changing temp prob and oil lines I MAW pull the carb off the intake, right?
The first test 8-track was "The Romantic Guitars of Don and Juan." Beautiful!
