Wait a minute, Bill.

There's someone in your state, not far from you (I checked the map), who is selling a complete, running 350 for $400 with the trans (meaning he'll sell the engine alone for less, won't you Ferndale? ), and you're messing around trying to assemble a used engine with a bunch of new parts?

Look, you need to bite the bullet, figure out how to beg, borrow, or steal a truck, go out there, and buy that motor with the money you would have spent on a bunch of new parts for a motor that you hope will run when it's together, bring it back, and put it in your car.

A '68 or '69 low-compression 350 would be perfect for you and your car, and you can hang onto the parts you've collected so far, and save, and plan to get the parts to build that motor just the way you want it in a year or two.

If Ferndale will stand behind the engine (and I'm sure he will, at least in your case), then just do it.

The good Lord has opened a door here for you, but you're to only one who can step through it.

How many miles are on this engine and trans? Was this pulled from your car? Sounds like it would be perfect for Bill.

It's got the 2-speed Jetaway, Bill. You don't want it. Nobody does. I've refused to take them for free.

It'll bolt right up to your TH350 (Your car came with a Buick V6, right?).

Must be a regional thing. Here in Tx. I average selling at least one Jetaway every six months or so.

You'll need motor/frame mounts from any 75-79 X body with a 260 Olds V8, 76-79 Cadillac Seville with Olds 350.

Your motor mounts would be the same as they would be for the engine you are planning to install now.

For motor mount applications, see Joe Padovano's motor mount thread.

Wow. Could be. Seems like everyone is swapping their ST300s for TH350s, and their TH350s for 200R4s.

Personally, I have no interest in a 2-speed, and would consider a 4-speed in any car I had, but if I were going to the trouble of swapping transmissions, I'd probably try to go to a manual, rather than another A/T.

Hey, you're not highjacking, just checking out the fit.

As for your question, I have no bloody idea. As I have said (a few times ), I know nothing about X-bodies.

I have, however, read through Joe P's thread (linked to above), found no answer, and posted a question about it for you.
I kind of feel someone mentioned the answer to this sometime in an earlier thread of yours, but I just can't fully recall...

I just had a 231 swapped for an Olds 350. I used the trans am brackets for the block and matching mounts for frame as I heard. This wasn't the 100% sure way to make the install work. Couldn't get the mounts to line up perfectly for the world!! I ended up making a post to see if anyone could help but couldn't get no answers. Tried every which way to make work but couldn't get them to line up. Closest they lined up was about 1.5 inches off. Mounts had to be welded to the frame to make work.

The motor had to be running pretty good to hit a pole hard enough to tear the pass side wheel clear off and stuff it through the floor......And I had it running here before I pulled it out and put it inside for another car I had---sold that car---not to sound like a dyk but I'll take $400 for the motor without the trans.....I would like it all gone. What have you got to trade?????
