Eric,
Some material looks like it was rewritten from factory service manuals, but the troubleshooting trees may have been created by Chilton. One section of the book is a time and parts guide that gives factory part numbers and prices in conjunction with the 'book time' to perform the repair. That information isn't shown in most shop manuals.
