WELL worth it to have some excellent pics of my baby. I plan to get large, poster sized prints for my office. Check it out, the first 10 are Cody, the rest are my own snap shots: http://picasaweb.google.com/omicron.inc/442#
For those of you in Colorado, his name is Cody Lind, and he does amazing work.
www.codylindphotography.com . It was pretty inexpensive to have him shoot the car, you get digital copies of the images and he can make prints.

For sure.
And while it's not an Oldsmobile, we shot my 2008 Challenger SRT-8 too. Here's the pics of it: http://picasaweb.google.com/omicron.inc/Challenger#

We are lucky in the Olympia area. There is a "show-n-shine" every Friday night 5P-8P in a church parking lot sponsored by a local hot rod club. No awards, just lots of cars and lots of fun. There is one photographer that goes to these shows and just takes pictures of the cars for fun. If he sees you at your car the following week, he gives you a picture of your car - the picture is a "round-up" of the several pictures he took of your car. He absolutely refuses to take money for these pictures, and they are indeed super nice and super professional. He did my '68 4-4-2 in May, then the '70 GTO in July, and he just shot our '71 Corvette last week. I've attached the 3 pictures. He also made us a 13" X 19" poster of all 3 cars - I'd scan it if I could, but it's too big. Anyway, I repeat again, we are so lucky to have a person like this man, that just loves his hobby, shoots pictures when the opportunities arise, and then gives them away without so much as accepting a penny. We are so thankful. You can check out his website at http://www.flickr.com/photos/oldworld/.

My laptop display is pretty bright, they look a bit overexposed, but I looked at some of my own pictures, and they look the same, so I know it's the screen, weird :0
Nice pictures, good composure

A very handy bloke to have hanging around car shows. The pics are cool.
Looks like the 68 442 (and what a nice car it is) has one rear window up and one down. I read somewhere in another post that it's not the done thing to have just the rear windows up on a convertible.
I don't know about that, but why do some people show their verts with the rear windows up
? You'd never drive them like that....IMHO.

Nice pics. I know that wasn't cheap!!!!
Looks like he enhanced them with photoshop or another program too.
Just for pics of my kid they wanted $1500....
I went and bought my own Canon 40D and some lenses.

Thanks for the props, everyone! He's pretty amazing. Well worth doing it, IMHO.
I paid by the hour + cost to have them printed in larger sizes. Surprisingly reasonable prices on all fronts. PM me for details.
As for Photoshop, I don't think he did any enhancing. Cleaned up things like bug splatters and fixed odd reflections, but no enhancement. Yes, our skies really DO get like that in Colorado.

I'm not sure what "Photoshop" does, but I do know he put the little sun glints and stuff like that on my pictures. He also blots out anything that he doesn't want in the picture (cars in the show adjacent to mine, etc). With the rear window, I had it up because I tape a copy of the original window sticker there - otherwise, it would be down (doesn't look cool when cruising if the rear windows are up!). The photographer either didn't notice the rear passenger window was up or left it there on purpose. I suspect he didn't notice or he would have taken it out. In either case, I'm more than happy with what he did for me. He is a very generous man!

Maybe in the land down under they leave the quarter windows up because it looks like a see through shark/shock dorsal fin, the national fish.
Take a look at the pic in Post #12 on the street at the side of the car......see how shiney and reflective it is?? You can see it's like a mirror.
Now look at the pic in Post #14 with the awesome skyline, he enhanced the side of your car to make it BRIGHTER and more prominent against the backdrop.
I'm guessing he had lighting setup and it caused too much reflection, so he used an editing program to hide the light reflection and satin out the side.
Most photographers do it to all photo's. It's normal photography.....I think it's awesome work.

It's easy to spot by looking at the hood's reflection, and then the side is a bright satin finish now with zero reflectiveness.
He did this to brighten up the photo against the backdrop because of lighting. It's gorgeous though but he definitely enhanced.

......Jerr
I messed with Richards 66 pictures from another thread.........Photoshop is a cool tool........lol
I liked this one also.......But the color was a tad faded in the original and I didnt like the reflections on the car so I did a little custom work..........
BEFORE

AFTER ......Photoshop is a amazing tool........Wish I knew more than the 20% of it I know now.....
