*******SOLD******* I plan to take a few nice parts to the upcoming Carlisle, Pa. swap meet. This is an original 1970 Hurst Dual-Gate console and shifter assembly. Includes all 3 original uncut wiring harnesses. The shifter has been cleaned and greased. The console body is in nice condition, never any cracks that I can see. The glove box door has never been damaged. The glove box liners are in good condition. The wood grain trim is new. $900. cash and carry. PM me if interested.

Very nice. I bet it will sell easy. Only thing, One of the wire harnesses is 71-72. You will not need the right harness for a 70. The left harness and the one in the middle are the only 2 you need for 70.

Thank you for the information. Over the years my harnesses have gotten all mixed up. I thought the one on the right was a 1970 console extension harness.

That is correct but for a 71-72. That same harness is made into the harness on the left but uses a 4 pin plug on the console side.

Harness

I've found the 4 pin console lighting harness. It will be included.

Is the shifter **** factory original or a GM replacement ****? Just asking since there has been an ongoing discussion as to if the OEM 70-72 dual-gate shifter **** had a groove around the circumference and was smooth, or it had no groove and was textured - not unlike the walnut shifter **** on the standard floor shifter.

Shift **** dual-gate

I got into the Olds musclecars about 35 years ago. Back then it was well known that original dual-gate ***** never had a groove. If you bought a replacement at the Olds dealer it would have the groove. IIRC both the originals and the replacements all had the Daka-Ware Chicago markings on the bottom. Original dual-gate ***** were never real shiny. The replacements were much glossier. I believe the plastic formula had been changed.

Texture

I don't think the dual-gate ***** had any type of texture. Smooth plastic. The woodgrain ***** did have quite a bit of texturing that imitated real wood. It wore off quickly. Picture shows a 40K woodgrain ****. The texturing is mostly gone, especially on the upper half.

Thank you for the information. It seems that is the consensus on the different dual-gate shifter *****.
