Yeah....There was a thread about how hard it was to find one on Facebook a couple weeks ago and someone posted the link to this one. It was the only one I’d ever seen and it was the only part that I was missing so I jumped on it. I just know I’ll probably never use it...

You should install it in your car! I know it's a pain in the patuzie to do it - running the vacuum lines, installing the button in the glove box, and so forth - but I sure do like the vacuum-operated trunk opener in my '69! And guess where I found the actuator bar for my set-up? None other than 2blu442 - John had it and it made me believe I was the luckiest guy in the whole world to get it!
But install it in your car...you'll be happy you did in the end!

I actually ran all vacuum lines when I built the car. They’re right in the back of the trunk all coiled up

I decided to keep this. I looked for over ten years for this part and I think I should install it. Now that I finally have the actuator to compare it to I may look into modifiying the Pontiac one for Olds use so others can have this part too. I apologize for wasting people’s time. ThanksMike.

Al, these appear to be very hard to find. But an Olds guy over on facebook shared a copy of the part numbers. It looked to me like the 1968 Toronado used the same part. I think there's a greater chance of finding a Toro for parts that had this option than an A-body. If anyone can confirm or deny they are the same it would be nice to share here. John

I know they are hard to come by and we ended up finding one but I suspect it was for a full
size car as the rod was too long and the swivel was in the wrong location. It wasn’t like you could just cut a piece off.
