1965- 442 400 engine

This is a rebuilt 1965- 400 cid engine , it has new forged pistons , ring - bearings , double row timing chain - oil pump - freeze plugs . The rods were reconned with new rod bolts , i added a Toro windage tray setup , it has been balanced with the stick shift flywheel which is included , new pilot bearing in back of crank , crank is a OEM forged steel , . This will be a true 10:1 cr engine , cam is a Crane cam that is correct for the early Olds engines- it was degreed in to specs , Block was bored and honed with a block plate . . Price is $3500 picked up at my location . Hebron Illinois 60034 . Pictures were taken before i put the oil pan on .

This is one of the good 440 engines. If I had a 66 or 67 I would be all over this. I don't think you could buy and build it for that. GLWS.

Bob, I hate to step on your for sale thread and hope you have good luck selling this really nice short block but are those 2 windage trays and bolts available new? I’ve looked everywhere for Toronado windage tray and can’t find anything.

You need the Toro main cap bolts with the short stud to fasten the trays to the bolts , i use the nylock nuts for lock nuts . BOB

Yes I will 2 studs because I just want to use the rear tray. Have you ever used the side scraper from the Toro pan? That might be something interesting to try.

Nice engine! i would be carefull with nyloc, not good with heat, and i dont want to see the plastic melt and the hardware end up in the pan. You could use a crimp nut, more of a mechanical hold for what you are fastening. Good luck.
