Easy, really. Have a few drinks, go to Craigslist and type in "Oldsmobile". Sometimes you will get a variety of things. Depends on key words people use.

I mean how someone comes to own a 1907 Oldsmobile steering wheel.

Did the guy own a 1907 Oldsmobile before and then sold it but found that extra part lying in his garage? Or maybe it was something in with his grandpa's tools that he had a car enthusiast identify? There are a number of possibilities.
