Looks like a factory color to me. Not sure of the name of the color. I could be wrong but I once owned a one owner 69 gold on gold on gold (no top)Toronado. May have been the same color.

At first glance no, but zooming on the lower body between door and rear wheel arch the telltale greenish cast is visible. Some colors don't show up well on phone pics.
Would surprise me if a 53 year old car hasn't been resprayed. Golds (or any high-metallic) as a rule don't hold up well.
But lordy what a beautiful color sprayed right. Me dad's 68 elCamino was Chevrolet equivalent Ash Gold with black VT.
yeah i saw that car too, i wont say the price to not sway opinions but i think 3-5k might be OK it looks legit and complete and it is a 68, but it will need work for sure i think as a survivior driver its fine.
That is willow gold. If you buff it out you'll see the gold better.
It's a funny color. Personally I hate it but I was looking for a 68 442 for a guy on Long Island a couple of years ago and Willow Gold was the only color he'd consider
Yes, a buff out will bring the gold out a bit more. The new paints will last better as they have additives to block out a ton of UV whereas the original paints did not so they faded and the fade make the colours look different.
