I have a 72 cutlass that the original paint is cracking on hood and trunk. Thought I would order some touch up paint but ran into an issue. Unless this car was stripped and painted in its first few years it is original paint, a green, but color code says silver pewter(14). I think pinehurst green but am not sure. This is from the cowel. Anywhere else to find color code? Any idea from pic?
The paint code on the cowl tag is what it came with from the factory - unless the cowl tag was changed. It's hard to tell from your photo, but the paint in that photo appears too shiny to be original lacquer.
Joe, My parents have had car since mid 70’s. It has not been painted since they have had it and there’s only one coat of paint. The shine may be because of all the hours I have spent buffing this last week, lol.
