W25 hood stripes dimensions

I'm curious if anyone can give me info to this W25 OAI hood stripe question:

My final question for now is.....at the front of the stripes up by the scoop opening it appears the center painted area is 14 3/8 (approx.) inches wide and the way the stripe stencil lays at the back that the stripe gets skinnier. I think it should be the same width all the way back from the front? Is the width on the stripe the same front to back?

The scoop tops aren't parallel to the hood lines exactly. It has a VERY slight taper as it runs from the front to the back. And I mean slight. Maybe about 5/8" or so narrower at the back of the stripe than at the front. Not exact on those numbers. I believe is around 40 plus a hair inches on the inside length IIRC. So, not much taper, but it's there. The outer pinstripe is 1/4", with a constant 0.15" gap between it and the main stripe.

However, I believe the distance from the "edge" of where the scoop rounds down remains constant, if that makes any sense making it appear that the stripe follows the rounded side edge contours of the scoop. Which I believe is around 1/2" in from the scoop top "curb", thereabouts. The front of the stripe should start about 7/8" back from the top scoop edge, but again, these were painted on stripes at the factory and that could always vary slightly. The idea is not how wide the stripes are, per se, it's about covering the area by measuring inward from the scoop top "edges".

With those stencils, if you get them both even to each other, centered and straight to the scoop edges, you'll probably come out just fine. You are limited to what the stencil covers anyway.

That seems to be the way the stencils lay out on top of the hood so what you say makes sense. I've seen the distance back from the scoop opening to where the stripe start vary from car to car! I imagine having to apply the stripes to a car on the assembly line could cause variations in them in spite of trying to be consistent. The assembly manual gives very little in the way of dimensions and even the drawing appears to show dimension "A" arrows go from the right side of the right scoop all the way over to the closest side of the left scoop! But, if you use the cross section "A" dimensions and flow that all the way back, it will cause you to taper the stripe. I just think it should say how far back from the scoop opening the stripe should start at least and how long the stripe should be even if both sides differ (as the seem to do)! The instructions with the stencils aren't very detailed either. Most of us using these have never put stripes on a car....LOL

69HO43....Thank you for the information you have stated above. I appreciate it!

As 69HO43 mentions.....start the stripe 7/8" (or 15/16" is good as well) back from the front edge of the scoops. This would be the leading edge of the outer "border" stripe.

I "stole" some stripe pics here a while back when this was discussed before. I found them. This MIGHT be of some help.

Well, I applied them last night and they will be what they are. I still need to put thin line tape across the backs of both hood stripes. They look OK!
