I am about through with the rebuild of a oai hood that I bought for my '71 442. The hood was pretty rougn when I got it but we have fixed the glass and frame problems and will paint tomorrow. My question is as regards the stripes on the hood-specifically how the stripes end toward the rear of the hood. The small 1/4" stripe that surrounds the bigger painted stripe area does not totally surround the big area-right? The smaller stripes just stop at the rear of the raised section of the hood. Right? Anyone have some good pictures of a correct oai hood? Thanks for any help.

Refer to the 1972 Cutlass Assembly Manual. Has pics and dimensions Page 162. And yes, according to the pics, there is no wrap around small stripe at the back. It stops just like you describe.
