I am restoring a set of SS1's with the trim rings. Looks like the factory used "flat black", but I was thinking a semi-gloss might look a bit better and possibly easier to clean? I dont think it will make much of a difference either way, just wondering if anybody that has painted any recently had some input. I am going to sandblast the back of the wheels (rusty). The chrome is decent on the spokes, but little rusty around the lug holes. might give that immediate area a quick blast as well.

 

Eastwood sells a Rally Wheel black that is just right.

 

I used Krylon satin black to freshen mine up. Looks good to me and they were not nice enough to worry about a perfect factory match.
